Anniversary plans

Holy shit....I've almost been married for one whole year. That's insane. Where has the time gone? Crazy crazy. Well around Christmas time, Sam's club was having all these deals on trips and spa days and stuff and we got a trip to Vegas for 3 nights and 4 days for 200 bucks at the Tahiti Village hotel. It's right on the strip and is way nice. I think that it's usually like 200 a night so we got a killer deal. We both took a week off in June. The trip starts on a Friday and we're driving to California first to see a baseball game. We're going to two games, one on Friday and one on Saturday and on Sunday we are going to Disneyland. We're staying in California Friday night through Monday morning. Monday we're driving to Vegas and staying there for 4 days then driving home. We haven't really planned too much as far as what we're going to do in Vegas. I want to see Phantom of the Opera so I'll drag him along to that and we are going to gamble and drink a lot. I'm gonna stock up on the Newcastle beer. Mmmm...it's been so long since I've had one of those. I'm excited.

3 Months

I've been married about 3 months now. It doesn't really feel too different being married. We were already living together and acting like a married couple so nothing really changed. I guess the most change was in the way I felt. He was mine...forever now. He's my husband, I've made a commitment to him and only him. I just felt so.....so....oh i don't even know how to describe it, just pure happiness.

I wish that we had our own house though. Not that living with the rents is THAT terrible, I just want to be a grown up married woman with a house and a kitchen and pots and pans. It's so easy at the house now. We don't pay rent, we have our own little apartment type thing in the basement...kitchen, laundry room, extra bathroom. And my mom even makes dinner. I feel like such a bum though. It's good though cuz we're both going to school and trying to save up and pay bills while we're living rent free. James will graduate in May. Once he finds a well paying job that can support the both of us, I'm gonna quit and go to school full time. I want to get my CNA license and do that at the hospital. So that'll take about 5 weeks to complete and then when I start work again, I'll continue to do my pre reqs for nursing. I often daydream about my future life, not working at this lame job, going to school, James doing what he loves. I wish that it would happen already.

We got a puppy. He is just like Georgie only brown and black. Oh man he is SOOOO cute but he's a little shit. He bites like crazy, he shits all over the house and he has this awful screeching bark. I love him to death though. It's been kinda rough having to wake up every 2 hours in the night to take him out. It's like having a kid. I definitely think it's a good idea to start with a puppy before moving onto kids just to get used to it. He really is a good dog though. He's just a puppy doing puppy things. He's very cuddly and sweet. He's nicer when he's tired. He's funny. It was funny to see James in the beginning with him. He was carrying him around like a baby and going out of his way to do stuff for him. He's really cute with him. He's gonna be a good dad....but that's a whole other topic.

So yeah....that's life being married.

Being a Lopez

I know I know....I haven't posted in a long time. I'm just so lazy. I need to keep up with this. The whole point of my starting it was to note everything about our relationship.

So yeah....I love being married! I love James so much that sometimes it hurts. I have cried myself to sleep because I can't believe that I'm here. I can't believe he picked me! I am the luckiest girl in the world! I have a wonderful husband, I actually love my in laws, and I'm so happy with everything. I can't remember a time when I have been this happy.

I absolutely love his mom. She and I have a ton in common and I don't feel like I have to act differently than I normally am when I'm around her. We get a long so well and I'm so glad she's my 2nd mom. I love the whole family! The girls think I'm the shit. Bean always talks to me about her personal stuff that you don't tell just anyone. I feel like a big sister, and I've never had that before. Married life is wonderful!

I love James more than I can begin to express!!!

Invitations

We sent out our invitations about 2 weeks ago. We've had a ton of compliments of how pretty they are and how cute our picture is. We've had about 60 or so people RSVP. We asked that they do it before May 15. I'm so excited. James' aunt from Arizona is coming. Apparently she is his favorite. I'm happy because Jose hasn't seen her in a long time and really wanted her to come. Yay!

More wedding.....and some more wedding.....

We got our invitations back from the printer yesterday and we took my memory card with our picture on it to Macey's to get a bunch of copies of it and James just picked them up. So I think we're going to put them all together this weekend. We printed a bunch of labels with our address on them. We'll put those on the envelopes this weekend too. Now all I have to worry about is my flowers and the tuxes for the boys. So we'll see how it all works out. James talked to the tux people and they said to come in 2 weeks for the fitting.

I'm so relieved!

I feel like everything that I've been stressed about with the wedding is finally taken care of and I don't have to stress anymore. I was having a really hard time finding someone to do my hair on a Sunday morning because I live in Utah and everyone is closed on Sundays. I found a lady named Paula and she did hair and makeup with tv shows and movie stars and stuff like that. She said she was available on the day of my wedding and she would be happy to do my hair and makeup....THANK GOODNESS!!! And then I was worried about Miranda's and Amber's hair. Well Amber doesn't have much hair now cuz she cut it all off so she can just leave it down and it will be cute and then Amber said she would do Miranda's hair so that's a relief. Our invitations are at the printer right now and should be done next week. Julie found a flower place that's fairly cheap for lillies. We'll go look at tuxes soon. I got find a day when everyone can go in. My dad prob has the busiest schedule. I guess they don't all have to go the same day but I think it would be better so that we can get all the same thing without any doubt. We'll see. I'll have to talk to my dad and James and see what his friends want to do. The only thing I'm a little nervous about is when Amber's dress will get here. Cuz once it gets here, we have to ship it to CA so she can get it altered. I'm worried that there won't be enough time. It's due to be shipped at the beginning of May, but I don't know. I would be devastated if it didn't get here in time. I have an alteration appt with Miranda next week. We're both getting altered. I was hoping that I could be able to take off a lot but I don't think I will. I haven't lost any weight since I got my dress....maybe like 3 pounds. Its depressing. I wanted to lose a bunch of weight before the wedding but I don't think that it's gonna happen. Oh well. I love James and he loves me and that's all that matters.

More wedding stuff....I'm exhausted!

So James and I went to pick out our cake last week. We went to this place called Carrie’s Cakes. This lady makes these gorgeous cakes out of a bakery in her basement. We went to her house and had a few samples of their cakes. We picked a lemon cake with buttercream frosting. Oh man….it’s so tasty! I didn’t want to share it with James and his mom. I could’ve eaten it all to myself. We picked a 3 tier cake that is round. The top and bottom tiers are the lemon and James wanted one that was Almond flavor. I personally didn’t like the almond one at all. It tasted like lotion. It reminded me of tanning lotion. But that’s what he wanted so I let him get it. The cake has ribbon on the bottom of each tier and little white dots all over the whole cake. I’m going to keep the dots white and I ordered black ribbon. We’re going to put red rose petals on the table by the cake and then get a bundle of white calla lilies tied off with a black ribbon and put it on top of the cake. I’m excited. I feel like I’ve accomplished so much toward wedding planning. We also met with the officiant last week too. She is a reverend who has been doing weddings for 25 years. She had us both fill out a questionnaire about each other and then she said she will take what our answers and her view of how we are as a couple and will write our vows for us and write our her own ceremony for us based on what we want. She is such a nice lady and she was really funny. She is like that crazy old lady that everyone loves. She is kind of high priced though. She charges $275 for the ceremony. In a way I don’t want to spend that much but I really liked her and I think she will be good for the wedding. She is very open and can help put our ideas into what we want. I’ve never been married before so I don’t really know what to expect for the ceremony. The traditions, the vows, the prayer and what not. I want a prayer but I don’t want a religious ceremony. I think it would really make my grandparents happy if we did one. I want to do some special ritual. They have a few different types of rituals that can be done. I think I like the rose ceremony where we buy a vase together and we both put a rose into the vase to signify our first love as husband and wife and then we keep that same vase and do the same thing every anniversary and repeat our vows to each other. I think it sounds cool. We'll see. We picked out our invitations and chose the font we want and we went to get them printed on Saturday but the place we had in mind is closed on the weekends and they close at 5:30 during the week. That's crap! Those hours are so retarded. So we have to find somewhere else to get them printed.
